Health Literacy Infographics
Our infographics are in alignment with i. D.R.E.A.M. values because they are culturally competent and informative. We accomplish this by engaging directly with the Black birthing community through our Black Mamas Glowing™ peer support groups. These health literacy infographics are meant to educate our community on topics that are relevant and affect us at a disproportionate rate.. We uplift the broader Black perinatal support network by joining in on social media outreach and engagement events like Black Maternal Health Week, Black Breastfeeding Week, Black History Month.

August 25th-31st is #BBW21 (Black Breastfeeding Week) We honor the need for rest. We hope to inspire you to create #BBW21 events that speak to the power of rest in our lives and movement

Black Maternal Health Week 2022
Black Maternal Health Week takes place every year from April 11-17 and was officially recognized by the White House on April 13th, 2021. The month of April is recognized in the United States as National Minority Health Month - a month-long initiative to advance health equity across the country on behalf of all racial and ethnic minorities. Additionally, we are joining dozens of global organizations who are fighting to end maternal mortality globally in advocating that the United Nations recognize April 11th as the International Day for Maternal Health and Rights.
The BMHW 2022 theme, “Building for Liberation: Centering Black Mamas, Black Families and Black Systems of Care”, reflects BMMA's work in centering Black women's scholarship, maternity care work, and advocacy across the full-spectrum of sexual, maternal, and reproductive health care, services, programs, and initiatives. Additionally, the 2022 theme reflects the critical need for learning about Black Feminist and womanist approaches in strengthening wellness structures within our communities, across the Diaspora, as a revolutionary act in the pursuit of liberation and in the global fight to END maternal mortality.
#BMHW2022 will be a celebration of #BlackExcellence. i.D.R.E.A.M. for Racial Health Equity has collaborated with Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Black Maternal Health Center of Excellence to offer a webinar discussing Black Systems of Care outside of the Hospital. This Village Conversation aims to highlight the all too common obstacles Black families have to navigate when seeking culturally appropriate support during their childbearing and parenting years.
